Democracy is Freedom to kill Freedom

Reading through Frontline I came through an article that was about how a book ,“Such a long journey” written by Rohinton Mistry, was ridiculed and out casted from the syllabus of BA in Arts because Shiv Sena and its brother organization like Yuva Nirman Sena ,headed by Aditya Thackeray, didn’t approve of it. Well my question is  “who gave them the right to take away the freedom of voicing one’s opinions in pubic”. Last time I checked India was a democratic country, the largest democratic country on basis of population, and not a Fascist were people in power can crush the people who speak against them.

Time and again we have seen books and films getting banned because a few people or group in the country are too chauvinist  to see every negative reference as an insult and on top of that our government is too afraid to do anything to stop such a nonsense. This is an absolute insult of democracy and the rights that the constitution offers us.

Well it would have been better after all that instead of a democracy we had a communist government. Then we would only have to worry about the government and not about the sensitivity of every tom, dick and harry.

Was Buddha right?

Date: 30 Oct. 2010

Today while taking a walk, not in a garden or park but on road, and smoking my cigarette suddenly a thought came to my mind. Long time back I read a saying by Buddha “ Life is painful and miserable”  and I started relating his saying to the life in real. Well in beginning I started to think in terms of small things like, I like to eat sweet stuff but I can’t eat much cause I can easily gain weight, people like to smoke but smoking kills, people like to drink but alcohol harms liver. Its just that one can take small amount of all of these things. But isn’t that painful too? Once you eat some really good cake sweet you would like to eat as much as you can but you can’t do that every time, you can’t smoke all the time or it will kill you, you can’t drink all day long.

After getting passed my initial thoughts I pondered more and started thinking about greater things in life. Well I start from the beginning. During childhood a child is made to suffer in the school. He is made to compete with other students so that he get better grade than others and get admitted in better college. During college he is again forced to perform better so that he can get better jobs. Again at job he in under pressure of working day and night so that he gets promoted and gets a better salary. Once he is little settled he gets married and now he is tensed about his family and children. And in closing chapters of his life he struggles with life and all kind of pains. Even death, the last page of one’s life,  is painful. And that’s the life of a of common man. One has to go through all these trails and pains if one wants a normal life. Well should we call it normal?

In the end I think Buddha was right. It is not a divine knowledge but a better understanding of our lives and I think that’s what Buddha did.He just analyzed the life like an observer observing  a phenomenon.

Test, why not? Charge is 10 Euro for Each!!!!

In these past 2 weeks I and one of my other friend (called as RAT) have been meta morphed into test taking machine that takes any online numerical, verbal, logical test for anyone and that also for free. If I would have recorded my past 2 weeks and made a film on it it would have only one scene person sitting in front of a computer screen giving a test.

It all started with a numerical test ,for graduate position in a company, that we gave for one of my friend. Bloody I still regret it why did I gave the test and why did he pass, cause after that my life has become hell. Now almost (no not almost, its everyday) I am giving a test for someone for some damn graduate role or internships. Its like I am a living test machine.Feed the numbers, let it process and collect the results.

But we have learned many things from this experience of being a test machine. We have learned a lot about culture of pakistan, their lollywood(specially one song "disco dewani".Show that to a dead man and he will also fall off his death bed laughing out). I have also learned that questions get repeated in different tests and the type of question does not change from one test to the other.
Till now we think we have given at least 8 tests and have developed such high understanding of these tests that yesterday when we was giving a numerical test for my friend we completed it in just 2/3 of the alloted time.God damn the computer must still me going crazy about how could someone complete the test so quickly and a full scale investigation must me undergoing.

Bollywood,Ubiquitous!!!!!

Today is the day I'll remember throughout my life.A certain happening changed my perception of Bollywood today.

The story goes like this-
I wanted to get some printouts of my CV ,So I went to a nearby cyber cafe. There in my not so good, french I started to explain the guy what I wanted.I din't knew what I was saying in french but as I new word for printer in french I started to explain and to my amazement the guy understood. So I got the printouts and just to make an interaction I start to talk to that guy.I found out that he was from Morocco, and came to france long time back.I told him that I'm from India and then the lightening struck. When he came to know that I was Indian he asked me did I knew Salman Khan.Oh brother!!! This is crazy, amazing, out of the world,F---ing crazy. How did he knew about Indian actor. Now you can accept that a guy from UK or USA or China or Russia or some country of latin America talking about Indian actor but a guy in France and that also a Moroccan guy.How could he know about salman Khan.He doesn't understand Hindi, nor English how could he? I was searching for an explanation in my mind but was unable to find one so out of curosity I asked him how he knew about salman. He answered he accidentally watched an Indian movie in an Indian restaurant in France in which salman was hero and he started liking him.

After this incident I have come to belief that acting and passion knows no language.Although the guy doesn't knows Hindi it's his passion and liking of Salman that he likes to watch him.

To begin

I am alone in my room listening to dire straits song " Private investigations" in my room in Nice,France.I like the saxophone and the tune being played but it is making me feel home sick.I start to visualize the night with full moon when I was at my home in India,in my room lying on my bed ,listening this song all alone in night with cool breeze coming through the door of my balcony. Now I realize I love my home and my people. So I am creating this blog to I share my feeling and happenings with my people and world at large.
